During my trip to the Grand Canyon, I opted for a more budget-friendly stay just outside the park and chose the Grand Canyon Inn and Motel. This place exceeded my expectations in so many ways! Although it’s technically a motel, it felt much more special. The room was spotless, the bed was incredibly comfortable with fresh linens, and it offered a cozy retreat after a day of exploring. The only thing to note is that the pillows were High Loft, my boyfriend and I prefer the low to Mid Loft. One of the highlights was the on-site restaurant, where you can enjoy all your meals. The food was delicious, and the staff made us feel truly at home — like we were part of a family. The check-in process was seamless and modern, done via an online kiosk with live agent support, which added a nice, hassle-free touch to the experience. Additionally, the motel features a charming pub-style bar, perfect for unwinding and socializing with fellow travelers. Overall, I loved the unique vibe and relaxed atmosphere of the Grand Canyon Inn and Motel. It was honestly more enjoyable than a typical hotel stay, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable, welcoming place near the Grand Canyon.

The room was clean; the mattresses were good and linens and towels were in good condition. The water pressure in the shower was good; the shower worked well and was easy to operate. The room had a small coffee maker and a small refrigerator. There was no closet and only a few hangers; there was a dresser, a table with 2 chairs, and plenty of floor space. There was only one window, opposite the door. The heater/fan/thermostat worked well. One electrical outlet between the beds, another with several outlets near the refrigerator. No USB outlets. We were on the first floor and could clearly hear people walking in the room above us, but otherwise the room was quiet. The room was comfortable, and the location about 20 minutes south of Tusayan and the Grand Canyon South Rim entrance was convenient. This was a great budget location for our trip to the South Rim.

When I arrived, there was no one at the Lobby check-in desk. However, they have an excellent self-check-in kiosk in the entrance area. It was quite easy to check-in. I did not find the restaurant open in the mornings so was not able to try it out. They do provide coffee and a microwave in the lobby area. I stayed in the Annex, which is across the street and down a bit from the main hotel. The bunkhouse rooms are tiny, but very comfortable. I would definitely stay there again. I used to always stay in Tusayan, but the hotel I have stayed at many times was triple the price from my last visit (a long time ago). The rooms were clean and well-supplied with the essentials. It was very quiet, and the sky was dark due to few lights to interfere with stargazing.

I love the decoration and the room size; it’s very spacious. The parking area is a little dark at night (I’m really afraid of ghosts), but it was okay because I was with my husband. The bed and towels were very clean, and the room had a pleasant smell. I originally booked the campsite for two nights; it's a 15-minute drive to the park, but it was so cold the first night because my sleeping bag wasn't thick enough. The next morning, I used my phone to search for a hotel for the second night, and I was lucky to find this great hotel, just 30 minutes from the park, at an excellent price. I’m really happy with my stay, and I will definitely return when I visit the Grand Canyon again — I won’t be booking a campsite anymore. Thanks so much, Grand Canyon Inn!

I stayed in a room with two queen beds, and it was quite spacious. Both the room and bathroom were clean, which I really appreciated. The room also comes with both a heater and AC, making it comfortable in any season. One of the best things about this place is its proximity to the Grand Canyon South Rim—just a 30-minute drive, which is amazing for the price. Late check-in is super convenient with the self-service kiosk. Another highlight is the great breakfast food truck at the gas station right next door—definitely worth trying! I’d highly recommend this spot to budget travelers looking for a clean and convenient stay near the Grand Canyon.
